Church built between the and centuries, now a symbol of the 1944 liberation, with a John Steel mannequin in the bell tower.
Begun in the 11th century as a Romanesque church, it was completed in the 15th century, and has become above all a symbol of remembrance of the liberation of 1944. This is why most people admire the church: the body of American paratrooper John Steel can be seen hanging from the bell tower. Of course, this is no more than a carefully placed dummy. Cette église, au demeurant très bien conservée, a gagné sa célébrité grâce au parachutiste J Steele. Le village en lui-même entretient le souvenir du Débarquement.
The church has beautiful very original certain stained-glass windows (theme of the parachutists, coats of arms of American divisions...). We especially moved to see the famous church where J. Steele stayed hung for more than two hours!
