TRADITIONAL OTTOMAN HOUSES (SHTËPIE/KUĆA)

The historic center still has some traditional Ottoman houses. Among those still visible, we can mention :

House of Shemsedin Kirajtani. Located on Shuaip Spahiu Street. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century. For economic reasons, the second floor was never completed. A roof was put on the unfinished parts to make it habitable. This gives it a particular architecture compared to the houses of the same period.

House of Shuaip Pasha. Located in the street of the same name. It dates from the beginning of the 20th century and was built on the initiative of Shuaip Pasha, Minister of Finance in the first government of the Albanian state. Destroyed in 1999, it was rebuilt identically in 2012.

House of Gani Dukagjini. Built in the nineteenth century. It has a main house for women and children and an oda, for men and guests.

House of Ymer Prizreni. Dating from the nineteenth century, it is the house of one of the founders of the League of Prizren.

House of Muse Shehzade. Older, this house of the late eighteenth century is rich in decorative elements typical of Ottoman architecture. It is located on Bujar Godeni street.

House of the Mustafa family. Dating from the 18th century, it is located on Saraj Street, opposite the House of Culture.

Beledija. This is the first building of the Municipal Assembly of Prizren and dates from the nineteenth century. Today it is used as a training center for cultural heritage.
