TEŠNJAR DISTRICT

This Ottoman district on the right bank of the Kolubara has hardly changed. Its houses and shops dating from the eighteenth century continue to host all sorts of small craftsmen such as saddlers, weavers, potters ... There is even a skirt tailor! Along the bank, this district was for a long time the commercial center of Valjevo. Today, it is here that one comes to take a coffee or to attend the festivities at the time of the "evenings of Tesnjar". Further on, large buildings copy the Belgrade style.
