An interesting excursion: Oumba is a village built on the edge of the Oubangui. The road leads about 10 km from Damara on the road to Sibut, right just after the village of Bagbara (sign «Industrial Agrarian Zone»). Continue for 55 km on a bad track, passing through the village of Ngoupé. This site visits only in a dry season and is preferably a bicycle. Before the many coups of state, when the Central African Republic was still a country experienced and frequently visited by the West, Oumba was a popular holiday resort. Many Banguissois came to the beach on the weekend or on one of the many islands that marked the river. On one of them (accessible by canoe) was a restaurant, one can still see the ruins. Today, it is always possible to camp on site, taking precautions and providing equipment. Fishing, especially the captain, is, according to the premises, always good. Be careful, because some hippos inhabit the Oubangui at this level and, if they deserve a meeting (climb the river over 10 km), the night is not the ideal time! Before they were victims of poaching, many elephants also crossed the river from the neighbouring democratic Congo.
