A PK 76. Damara belongs to these large villages in province where the passage of the merchants from Chad and the East Central African Republic energize the local market. Damara is still in the Ombella-Mpoko, but its strategic position on the road to Sibut makes it inseparable from the Kémo. Near the city is a mythical place, known to all Central Africans: Sorciers's lake. It is said that an object thrown at such a place in its waters would be a distant one, or that at night, noises and inexplicable inexplicable would be heard from the lake. The site is located in the heart of the gold and iron area, in a bowl surrounded by green hills, not far from the site of Bogoin (iron extraction) at 45 km, which marks the beginning of the large rocky mountains. To access Sorciers's lake, at the crossing of Damara, turn left onto the road (RN 4) of Chad and Bogangolo for 35 km, then a 11 km runway on the right, to penetrate deep into the woody savanna. Less than kilometres after Damara, on the road to Sibut, many cave caves are scattered in the rocky mountains on the left, in the heart of the bush. Inside, paintings, some of which date back centuries, stools, time tools… they can be accessed only on foot. Count a good half day.
