These two concessions are located around Moremi's South Gate entrance, South Gate. Travellers come here mainly to visit the Moremi reserve, which is more easily accessible for self-drivers in 4 x 4. It is one of the only private concessions that allows self-drivers to use the tracks, because after 6pm it is forbidden to drive, and the speed limit is, as in all parks and reserves, limited to 40km/h. To the east of the Moremi Reserve, at the Mopane Tongue, these concessions, totalling about 900 km², are connected via the South Gate, on the Maun-Moremi road route. On the eastern edge of the delta, concession NG/34 receives floodwaters last - around July - and its waterholes, the latest, are the first to be found by mammals at the end of the dry season, when they migrate eastwards to the pans. For the most part, the reserve is a mopane forest, with holes in the acacia savannah or deep sandy areas, a refuge for wildlife during the rainy season. However, at its extreme south-western end, the concession borders the Gomoti River and the landscape combines classic riparian forests (ebony, fig and mango trees...) and floodplains. They are gained by sage or scrub during the dry season. Here, the main activity is wildlife observation. Prefer then the dry season, from April to November. However, the mopane forests normally guarantee the presence of large herbivores all year round.
