OSHO TAPOBAN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNE
Osho Tapoban, perched in the majestic Nagarjun forest, just 20 minutes by car from Thamel, is a spiritual center nestled in the jungle of the Kathmandu Valley. A true haven in the heart of nature, surrounded by centuries-old pine trees and monkeys, and bathed in sacred silence. The Nepalese love to come here with their families on Sundays for a stroll, a breath of fresh air and lunch in its excellent vegetarian restaurant. For those wishing to stay here, a variety of accommodation options are available: dormitories, standard and premium rooms, with kitchens and simple, comfortable living spaces. All stays include Osho's famous dynamic meditations (kundalini, shaking, dancing, gibberish, etc.), plus optional multi-day intensive programs - No Mind, Neo Vipassana, or Mystic Rose - for profound transformation.
The center boasts a superb bookshop with a complete collection of teachings by Osho and mystical masters from around the world, available for sale or shared daily as open reading. If you're planning a longer stay, you'll need to buy a red robe for the day and a white robe for the evening ceremonies (available on site at a modest price).
Each day, the typical program includes six sessions of meditation, yoga, pranayama, evening celebration in white dress... and an invitation to silence between each practice. The center offers retreats lasting a few nights, 7-day transformation camps, and 21-day intensive sessions for deep mental and spiritual cleansing. (Visit the website for the program and upcoming dates).
Among the site's highlights is a sacred space where Osho's ashes were scattered: a powerful place to sit and meditate. Further on, Death Park, a symbolic garden designed to meditate on impermanence and death, invites us to contemplate life with presence and awareness.
Osho's vision was to make meditation accessible to all, using simple tools. As a result, courses are open to everyone, even those with no previous experience. The aim: to integrate meditation and mindfulness into everyday life, in a simple, joyful, human way... a far cry from fixed temples. It's an exotic immersion, sometimes destabilizing, often luminous. A place of awakening, transformation and conviviality.
