THE KAUAI BUS

The island is served by the "Kauai Bus", from Kekaha in the west to Hanalei in the north via 8 lines. Even if the buses can help you out, it is better not to rely on this only means of transportation if you want to visit the whole island, because of their low frequency (not to mention their quasi absence on Saturdays and their non-existence on Sundays). Surfboards and bulky suitcases are not allowed (they must fit under the seat, dimensions are specified on the site). Bicycles are accepted and must be attached to the bike rack.
