The Lanikai Pillbox hike is one of Oahu's most popular. Much shorter and easier than its neighbor, Koko Crater, although some slippery sections require you to hold on to ropes, the Lanikai hike offers equally great views. The trail winds up the hill to the two pillboxes used by American soldiers to watch for foreign attacks. The view on the beaches of Lanikai and Waimanolo as well as on the islets of Manana and Kaohikaipu.
