The waters of this beach are sheltered by the former Olympic swimming pool (the Natatorium) and are therefore suitable for swimming. Shallow, they are particularly suitable for children. Far from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, this beach is very popular with locals who often come with their families. That's why it's nicknamed "Kamaina Beach" (the beach of the locals). It takes about 30 minutes to get there by walking along the sea. There is no shade on the spot, so bring something to cover up or you'll get roasted.
