DUKE KAHANAMOKU BEACH

The westernmost beach of Waikiki, in front of the Hilton Village hotel. This is where the famous surfing champion, Duke Kahanamoku, learned to swim and surf as a child. It is said that he still sends positive vibes to surfers who come to his beach... It is one of the few beaches in Waikiki where there are trees and therefore shade. Thanks to a small rocky barrier, it is partly better sheltered than the other beaches and is well suited for children to swim. The beach is however very (very!) crowded during school vacations.
