Located near Quebec and Labrador City's sister city, known together as Labrador West, it is the only community in western Quebec with an airport, which is served by PAL Airlines and Pascan Aviation. It was founded in 1967 with the motto " From the Earth We Prosper ". Indeed, from 1967 to 2007, the iron ore industry dominated the local economy. Due to declining demand, the mines closed in Wabush (although they are still operational in Labrador City). By car, you can access the area via roads 500 and 503.
