Visitor Center for information on Big Bend National Park and backcountry camping permits

Like the other information centers, you'll find practical information about the park and rangers ready to assist you if needed. In particular, take a tour of the Castolon Historic District, which in many ways offers a trip back in time. Here you'll find the remains of the La Harmonia Store, a post office where locals found everything they needed, given their remoteness from civilization. From 1902 until 1944, it served as a consulate, sheriff's office, notary, bank, and hardware store.

Superbe parc peu fréquenté.
Décors varies : canyons, plaines, …
La partie sud est plus escarpée et le Rio Grande plus sauvage.
Un seul regret : le soleil de plomb (plus de 40°) qui nous a empêchés de faire les quelques trails proposés. À refaire au printemps…
