Completed in 1913, the Empire Theatre was originally a theatre of vaudeville. Designed in the style of an Italian Palazzo, he suffered a great deal of damage during the 1921 flood in San Antonio. In the decades following, the theatre has a slow but safe decline. In the face of the drop in attendance, it is transformed into cinema for series B movies, but nothing does: in 1978 the theatre must close. It was only in 1998 that he was saved from ruin: a private foundation buys the building and restores its splendour of yesteryear. Registered on the Register of Historical Buildings, it is now a theatre of open varieties.
