University Health System is a hospital located in San Antonio, Texas. It is a nationally recognized teaching hospital and network of ambulatory care centers. With its 700 beds, it is the main teaching facility for UT San Antonio University Health System. It is also the primary trauma center for a 22-county region of South Texas and has the region's only designated pediatric trauma center, capable of caring for children with severe burns. The university's transplant center is one of the most advanced in the region, and is renowned for kidney, liver and lung transplants. The hospital offers a full range of medical services, including emergency care, rehabilitation, oncology, surgery and neuroscience. It also has a radiology and medical imaging department.
