The Lyndon B. Johnson Library is located on the campus of the University of Texas. It houses historical books and documents related to the political work of the 36th President of the United States. Born in the Texas town of Stonewall in 1908, Johnson took office following the assassination of J.F. Kennedy in 1963 and was elected in 1964. He is known for his progressive work on civil rights (his term also saw the assassination of Martin Luther King in 1964).
