Museum dedicated to Mexican art and the war between the United States and Mexico offering a pleasant visit to Padre Island.
Built in 1899, this historic Port Isabel building housed a grocery store in its early days, called 'The Champion Store'. The second floor housed the grocery store, the U.S. customs and the post office. After several lives, it is now a museum dedicated to Mexican art and the war between the United States and Mexico. The mural that covers the façade was painted in 1906 by a local fisherman. It is a nice visit if you are in Port Isabel.
