SEA TURTLE INC

In the late 1970s, Texas sea turtles were in danger of extinction. Ila Fox Loetscher decided to do something about it, so she set up a turtle center in her backyard on South Padre Island. Since then, the center has become incredibly successful and has moved to its current location, where visitors learn about Texas turtles and how to respect their natural environment. The turtle rehabilitation process can take days, months, or even years, depending on the patient (speaking of turtles) and their injury.
