THE STRAND

Strand Street, which, despite the hurricane of 1900, has kept some interesting vestiges, can be an excellent goal for a stroll. Still today, it is a very lively area of Galveston, lined with buildings from the late ^19th century. In addition to the many museums that surround it, Strand Street is lined with many stores and restaurants, some of which are located at the foot of a century-old building, a rare sight. Three blocks south, you can walk along Postoffice Street, which offers a less touristy and more artistic face of Galveston.
