HOUSTON ZOO

The Houston Zoo is located in Hermann Park. It is the seventh largest zoo in the United States in terms of number of visitors and is home to over 4,500 animals and 900 different species. For the zoo enthusiast, you'll find all the exotic species you'd expect from a zoo as well as the local wildlife. You'll see anacondas and even alligators! A favorite local attraction for kids, so highly recommended if you're traveling with the family! Around Christmas time, the zoo is lit up with fairy lights, opening its doors to the public in the evening.
