Built in the heart of downtown, the beautiful historic building that Nick's on 2nd occupies was, in the 1930s, a men-only gambling club, Nick's Bar. The atmosphere is definitely different today. The menu features grilled meats, especially certified Angus beef, as well as some good Cajun and Creole specialties. The fish and seafood section is also well stocked, and the inevitable po-boys, gumbo and other such dishes are obviously on the program. Live music on some nights.
