The room service lacks on attention to detail..the body wash was completely out when I arrived and then after requesting room service they missed it totally and next day missed towels in room.

Now the good,

The staff at front desk is awesome and the hotel is clean. Whoever lacks attention for room service needs to get it right because all the other staff is on point. Also the staff responded quickly to excessive noise on the floor above they kept pounding floor for some reason but was handled swiftly..

This place has fresh coffee from Community Brand, they also have breakfast on site but charges. The hotel is bigger than I expected. I haven't checked out the pool yet but I will soon.

I've stayed here a couple of times and have always enjoyed it. It's a bit of a walk from the front desk to the elevator, so consider a ground floor room if accessibility is a concern. I appreciate the bar area in the lobby that has a couple drafts from nearby Abita Brewery. The parking area is a bit small. Quite a bit of shopping and food options nearby.

UPDATE - 2 months later and my concerns still haven't been addressed.
**
I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn - Covington/Mandeville during the Christmas weekend and wanted to share my experience.
**
The hotel offers a convenient check-in process through their app, allowing guests to request specific rooms. However, my initial excitement was dampened when, despite my request for a first-floor room, I was assigned to the third floor without a satisfactory explanation from the desk clerk.
**
The room itself left much to be desired. The bed was uncomfortably hard, akin to laying on a slab of concrete. As someone with scoliosis, this resulted in a painful night's sleep. After spending Christmas with family, the exhaustion only magnified the discomfort.
**
On a positive note, the desk clerk was understanding when I decided to cancel the second night of my reservation due to the discomfort. Surprisingly, a refund was issued, despite booking under a non-refundable rate. Kudos for that.
**
However, the commendation takes a turn due to the delayed refund process. Despite assurances from the general manager, Melissa Wood, and Hilton Advanced Purchase, the refund did not reflect in my account post-holidays. Numerous attempts to reach Ms. Wood were met with frustration until resorting to Facebook Messenger finally elicited a response.
**
The situation became more perplexing when conflicting information about the refund was provided by Hilton Advanced Purchase, leading to unnecessary back-and-forth with my bank.
**
This experience has highlighted a need for improved communication and accountability within the hotel's management. While the unexpected refund was appreciated, the subsequent runaround has been less than satisfactory. I hope this review encourages the hotel to address these issues and enhance their commitment to customer service.

This one is NOT up to the standards that Hilton Garden Inn sets (well at least used to set). The room was smaller than normal. They did not have someone cooking breakfast. The "hot" buffet was only slightly warm. But they still charged a fee for it.

The room was good. Clean. It's hard to maintain temp as 69 was freezing, but 70 was hot. Bed was not very comfortable, and the pillows were worthless. Breakfast was good. Dinner at the bar was very overpriced and not great quality. One "to go" coke zero from the bar with a cup and a straw, 12 oz, cost me $4.36 and was mostly ice. I could have bought a 16 oz bottle from the pantry for $4. Chicken Cesar salad was tiny and had a small breast on it, nothing special, $16. I was there for business, so I wasn't paying, but I would have expected more from Hilton. Location is odd and hard to get to, behind a movie tavern.

Room was clean and nice and cool. Hotel was busy, and parking was difficult to find. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Finally found a legit clean and updated hotel in the Mandeville/Covington area. Besides the Southern, there’s not much for a luxury stay but I found this HGI to be top notch and on par with a top tier chain hotel. I’ve stayed at local hotels in this area and they were musky, outdated with swamp coolers. Was pleasantly surprised with this gem tucked away! Kathy at the front desk took my 2 senior dogs and I on a last minute reservation after a hectic closing on a house in the area. Was able to rest comfortably for 2 nights here. Had a little issue with getting the air conditioning to remain cool, otherwise it was what I was looking for. Bartenders serve up great cocktails and evening cook Horace makes some pretty good entrees. Tastefully decorated for Mardi Gras too!

Charged a $50 fee for a registered service dog? Not according to ADA. It’s a standing note on our Hilton Diamond requests. It was discussed at check-in. No paperwork was asked for or required or it would have been produced. No manager available when we called.
Faucet/shower combo hardware only partially worked so water pressure was minimal. Bed was extremely hard with a dip in the center like ‘I Love Lucy’ episode.
The bathroom door swung outward into the room making it very awkward.

Overall the hotel itself was nice. I think housekeeping needs to do a better job with cleaning. The tub faucet looked like it had not ever been cleaned, the hot water was mediocre at best, and I have never stayed at a Hilton and had to pay for breakfast. So imagine my surprise to get a bill while I am sitting down to eat. Nowhere when I booked did I see pricing for breakfast. The site just said breakfast included.

First let me say the staff here is excellent and extremely friendly. Location is okay. The hotel itself needs an update. Stayed at this location a few times through the years and have watched it deteriorate over time. Needs a little facelift!

We had absolutely no issues with our 2-night, 3-day stay at HGI, Covington/Mandeville. One room King Suite, second room two queen beds. They honored/respected our Service Animal, treated us fair, and finally, John our server for the entire stay at both Bar/Restaurant, was terrific! He is very sensitive and most attentive to our needs.

Needed a place for the night. Requested a room with two queens but when we got there they were overbooked and charged us extra for a room with a king and a pull out sofa. There were no sheets on the pull out, the bathroom door stuck and was very difficult to open. There was candy and other food stuff on the floor by the night stand.

The ladies workin' breakfast are absolutely fabulous. The entire staff is so freakin' nice. And if you hit steak night at the restaurant, you are in for a treat because the chef cooks the best freakin' steak i've ever had. Lots of stuff around and just two right turns to the highway.
