PROGRAM (PROTECTION GRANDS SINGES DE LA MOUKALABA)

Tourist office €€

The main interest of this region is to discover the riches of the National Park of Moukalaba-Doudou.

The Mbani site: river to the atypical and magnificent landscapes that offer conditions for observing the species emblematic of the park (elephants, buffalo, cobes Defassa, crocodiles of the Nile, hippos and even great apes with luck).

The Caves of La: for amateurs, it is possible to organize river outings on the Nyanga to visit the biggest caves that house impressive populations of bat (and sometimes you can observe the picatharte of Cameroon). The inventory of caves is being carried out in the park by ANPN.

:: discovery of the lunar landscape of «open marble». Karst training that looks (smaller) to the famous Tsingy of Madagascar (really smaller!).

:: possibility of discovering the village and customary activities. Or experience a tropical forest and primate tracking experience in Doussala Forest, managed by Program. Discovery of specific natural heritages in the vicinity: Mikandi Falls (very entertaining), the rapids Igotsi (river balade on the river Moukalaba over 8 km), the Kossipo (physical circuit, but relic trees of impressive logging: 4 m in diameter!). Mikandi Falls and Igotsi Rapids are programmable in half a day. For the Kossipo, plan a full day.

In project: a loop in PNMD that would make Tchibanga-Doussala-Mbani-Dighoudou-Tchibanga.

The park is accessible from the north through the village of Doussala.
