PORT MÔLE

Departure point for boats to Port-Gentil. Created in 1952, it's a lively place where restaurateurs and small traders stock up on wholesale supplies. Only a few restaurants remain, the others having been relocated in view of the forthcoming rehabilitation of the port, which is now in an advanced state of disrepair. The Office des Ports et Rades du Gabon (Oprag) plans to modernize the port by renovating the lanes, building a shopping center and setting up a mini logistics base. It's a project that could change the face of the city, but it's a long time coming.
