Before the Covid-19 health crisis, Air France operated a daily direct flight between Libreville and Paris Charles-de-Gaulle. It now operates only 5 return flights a week. The journey takes around 7 hours. Internet check-in service with electronic ticket. At Libreville airport, check-in can be done in the afternoon, from 5pm for the evening flight, or at the agency for passengers without baggage. On-board service is impeccable, with a full meal and beverage served during the journey.

Barely off-center, the airport adjoins the road that runs along the seafront, between the interchange giving access to the expressway and the Sablière district, 7 km from the center. The train leaves Owendo in the early afternoon and arrives in Franceville during the night, but is often delayed. It serves many stations, including Lopé. Timetables change twice a year, so check them before planning your trip. Tickets can be purchased at Owendo station and all other stations served. The company offers a snack on the catamaran and a Castel beer on return. The catamaran, reserved for large groups, can rent for half a day or a day of trekking on the Komo. South Africa Airways provides direct flights between Libreville and Johannesburg at a reasonable rate.

Based in Port-Gentil, this shipping company offers several round trips between Libreville and Port-Gentil per week, aboard the MV Evongue or the Victoria Jet. Luggage of 20 kg is included in the fare. Remember to check in early if you have several pieces of luggage. The journey is made inside on comfortable seats. The service on board is professional and a small bar allows you to refresh yourself or to cut a small hunger with a snack. Allow about 3 hours to reach Port-Gentil or Libreville.

Departure point for boats to Port-Gentil. Created in 1952, it's a lively place where restaurateurs and small traders stock up on wholesale supplies. Only a few restaurants remain, the others having been relocated in view of the forthcoming rehabilitation of the port, which is now in an advanced state of disrepair. The Office des Ports et Rades du Gabon (Oprag) plans to modernize the port by renovating the lanes, building a shopping center and developing a mini logistics base. It's a project that could change the face of the city, but it's a long time coming.
