PLAZA OLMEDO

This beautiful plaza is located on the Malecón Simón Bolívar, where the statue of the poet José Joaquín de Olmedo, the first mayor of the city who led the revolution of October 9, 1820, is located. It is one of the most popular places for tourists and Guayaquileños who, in addition to admiring the statue, come to stroll along the esplanade at the end of the day to enjoy the coolness of the Guayas River that it overlooks. There are small street food stands right next to the square, so you won't have to go far if you get hungry.
