HOSTERÍA DE VILCABAMBA

This property of a retired colonel, a luxurious haven, is 1 km north of the village, arriving from Loja. The location offers a few large comfortable rooms and bungalows, built in a local style - wood and tile - around a swimming pool but without real charm. The places are more like a large villa (or club hotel) than at a country house residence. Facilities include sauna, Jacuzzi and Turkish bath. Finally the colonel knows the region well and is happy to tell Vilcabamba. The restaurant is pleasant, it is the most chic of the valley. It serves good Ecuadorian cuisine.
