PLAZA CENTRAL

It is around this beautiful square (in the heart of the city) that the main public institutions are located, such as the Palacio Municipal, Gobierno Provincial, Gobernación de Loja, the Museo del Banco Central... In front of the square is the cathedral. One of the first statues in the city can be admired here, the one erected in honour of Don Bernardo Valdivieso, considered the father of the local youth (1745-1805). He dedicated his life to the education of young people during the colonization period.
