Ecolodge offering chalets built with natural materials, tropical wood and volcanic stone
Set away from the village on the banks of the Mindo River, El Monte offers a lush setting in the middle of nature. You have to cross the river with the tarabita (gondola) to reach the main house and the six ecological chalets. Everything is built with natural materials, tropical wood and volcanic stone, from the foundations to the furniture. The lodge is powered by solar energy. Delicious breakfasts with tropical fruits from the garden are served in the house, which is completely open to the jungle. Excellent vegetarian cuisine is also available.

The only snag a stroll guide (this day by hoping that the others are motivated) that did not make us discover billion things... you felt it more than blasé passionate. And the next day a stroll to see the cockerel typical beehive... expensive service for a so-called guide for birds. It just us them indicated but you did not know at the exit. Too bad: (
Otherwise, the lodge itself is top, to manage it adorable, you would go back, but it is these small rare and expensive breaks in business " mochilleros" although pleasant.
