VIEWPOINT - BARRIO DE GUÁPULO

First of all, go to the hotel Quito, by taxi or on foot. Located on the left behind the hotel, the mirador offers a panoramic view on the valleys of Tumbaco and Cumbaya with the snowy summit of Cayambe in the distance. A statue of Francisco de Orellana, discoverer of the Amazon, can be seen there. From the viewpoint, a path and steep stairs allow to reach the valley by crossing a picturesque hamlet where popular gardens and rich villas are mixed.
