Park famous for its astronomical observatory, the oldest in Latin America
La Alameda Park is famous for its astronomical observatory, the oldest in Latin America. At the end of the park, coming from the historical center, an imposing monument is dedicated to Bolívar. During the day, many Quiteños come to enjoy this beautiful green space and traditionally, lovers take a short boat ride on the lake that lies within it. Warning: it is recommended not to walk alone in the park after dark or even to cross the park, as thieves are on the prowl.
