Opened in 1992, this charming restaurant is set in a superb, lush garden, like a small haven of peace. Here, the feeling of being cut off from the rest of the city is complete: your meal is lulled by the chirping of the birds. As good in the morning as for lunch, this excellent address is frequented by a majority of Guatemalan families. Special mention goes to the delicious homemade plain yoghurt and the gourmet cheese omelette. More generally, you'll find hearty, tasty dishes, from chicken soup to tofu parmesan.

This cozy place is especially notable for its decoration: all the tables are adorned with beautiful woven tablecloths, while the chairs are dressed with huipils and the walls are decorated with traditional musical instruments. In addition to serving excellent pepián and tasty grilled meats, the restaurant organizes cultural dinners during which one learns about Mayan traditions and how the marimba works. On certain evenings, the small stage hosts concerts.

This restaurant opened in the late 70s and is an institution for the locals. The friendly staff prepares hearty home cooking, with a focus on chicken, served fried, in jocón, pepián, Milanese style, or curry. Also on the menu: steak, beef Milanese, filet mignon, smoked pork, spaghetti with pesto, and a plate of vegetables - among others. In the evening, the little cantina comes alive and sees its ping-pong table taken over by locals and a few tourists. A nice authentic address!
