BUS

Pana is very well connected (several times a day) to the large highlands. Despite this, it does not have a road terminal. Camionetas are taken near the intersection of the Santander calf and the main calf (also called the Real calf).

Security: It is advisable to avoid the route of Las Trampas, between Godinez and the Interamerican, which is subject to attacks and repeated flights. Roads around the lake must be avoided at night.

It's for Antigua. Direct connection per day at 11 a. m. 40 Q (3 hours). For non-direct connections, take a bus to Chimaltenango, direction Guatemala Ciudad and change to Chimaltenango for Antigua. Departure every hour between 5 a. m. and 5 p. m.

For Chichicastenango. Departures every hour from 6 a. m. to 3 p. m. 20 Q (1 hour 30).

For Guatemala Ciudad. Several departures a day between 3:30 a. m. and 2 p. m. (a little less on Sunday). From 35 to 45 Q (3 hours 30). Or take any bus for Los Encuentros and change for Guatemala Ciudad.

For Huehuetenango. No direct connection. Take any bus to Los Encuentros. Departure every hour between 4 a. m. and 3 p. m. 8 Q (45 minutes). Then change by taking a bus from Guatemala Ciudad, direct for Huehuetenango, or for Xela (popular name used for Quetzaltenango); in which case you will need to change the Cuatro Caminos junction (1 hour 30 road) to find a bus to Huehuetenango.

For Quetzaltenango (Xela). Several departures a day between 5 a. m. and 1 p. m. 25 Q (2 hours 30).

For Santa Catarina and San Antonio Palopó. Pick-up and some buses from the road to Santa Catarina (5 Q).

It's for Sololá. Departures every half hour (15 minutes at peak hours) around 5 a. m. and until 6 p. m. You can take 20 to 30 minutes to make the 8 km of a road to the very sharp and particularly winding. 4 Q.
