MERCADO CENTRAL
Read moreLocated in front of the Plaza de la Constitución, the Mercado Central is known for its artisanal stalls, but also has several comedores in two alleys at its heart. Los Olivos is one of the most frequented. Here you can find Guatemalan specialties such as chicken pepián , caldo de pata - a broth made from cow's feet and belly - hilachas, or asada - "grilled" meat. Other Latin American dishes on the menu include ceviche. Hearty plates, served with good guacamole and rice.
