Remains of the monastery and church that were the headquarters of the Order of the Hermanos Recoletos, a colonial complex steeped in history.
The monastery and church that make up this beautiful colonial complex were barely built in 1708 and 1715 respectively, but were severely damaged by the earthquake of 1717 and later by those of 1751 and 1773. What was once the headquarters of the Order of the Hermanos Recoletos, which lived in poverty and dedicated itself to helping the natives with the financial support of the nobles, fell into ruin. Today, the remains offer visitors a break from the past.
