Fernando de Noronha's beaches are the archipelago's main attractions. They are divided into "mar de fora" and "mar do dentro". There are 13 beaches in the archipelago: Praia do Porto, Praia do Cachorro, Praia do Meio, Praia da Conceição, Praia do Boldró, Praia do Bode, Praia da Cacimba do Padre, Baía dos Porcos and Praia do Sancho belong to the "mar de dentro". They are generally quieter and face Brazil. The mar do dentro beaches are the most popular in the archipelago. They are equipped with cabanas. Sun loungers and parasols are available. Praia do Leão, Praia do Sueste and Praia da Atalaia are part of the "mar de fora", which are rougher and face Africa. Sancho beach is considered one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, in Brazil. The beaches of mar de fora are part of the National Marine Park. You can't visit them all the time (some are forbidden at night). The legislation governing the marine national park is strict. You must therefore have the compulsory Noronha Park entrance to gain access. When the swell arrives, between November and March, it's on the main island of Noronha that you'll find the quietest bathing. The park's beaches are not equipped. There are no kiosks or beach chair or umbrella rental companies, which are forbidden. In this way, the wilderness of the site is preserved. Park rangers are on hand to ensure that the rules are respected.
