Go there and contact

Local guide who will introduce you to the Bribrí culture during a walk in the Costa Rican forest of the Caribbean coast.
The indigenous community is one of four Bribrís communities in Costa Rica. Located in the biological corridor between the Talamanca mountain range and the Caribbean, the community has just over 200 inhabitants. The Keköldi indigenous reserve is managed by the Wak Ka Koneke indigenous organization, which is committed to sustainable development and the conservation of natural resources. It covers an area of 3,583 hectares within a tropical rainforest settlement zone. Almost 30% of the reserve has primary forest characteristics. It is possible to stay at the scientific research center by reservation. Whether you choose to stay for a few days, or visit for the day, this is your opportunity to discover a fascinating culture and way of life. Let yourself be guided by the Indians who live on the Keköldi territory. They'll introduce you to the Bribrí culture, the Costa Rican forest of the Caribbean coast and, above all, to the breeding of green iguanas, which thrive on the site; the largest of them roam freely in the forest. Here, they are protected and you can learn why they are so endangered in this part of the country. You can also discover the local handicrafts. For the more sporty, if you go through ATEC (www.ateccr.org) or a local guide (booking required), you can combine the excursion with a visit to the region's largest waterfall, another natural wonder.
