The Camagüey ballet company celebrated its 50 years in 2017! The city, after the Havana National Ballet, can boast of the country's most prestigious dance company. Founded in 1967 and directed successively by Vicentina de la Torre, Joaquin Banegas, Fernando Alonso (ex-husband Alicia Alonso's husband), and today, Régina Almaguer, the whole has a total of about two hundred coins.

With its know-how and experience in this field, Camagüey organizes an International Festival every two years.
