The Iglesia San Juan de Dios is home to the second largest statue of the Holy Spirit in Latin America. Only Peru has another. Built in the first half of the 18th century, it has just one nave, and its wooden altarpiece is most remarkable. The adjoining convent houses a museum - the Museo San Juan de Dios, open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 4.30pm and Sunday, 9am to noon - with a wealth of information on the history of Camagüey, as well as a number of noteworthy paintings.
