Inaugurated in 1890 to the strains of Verdi'sAïda, the voice of tenor Caruso will also resonate within the walls. Declared a national monument - it's one of the three great provincial theaters - it bears the name of a great local music-loving sugarman. Admire the beautiful circular fresco decorating the ceiling, symbolizing the Seven Muses. The premises still host the region's most prestigious shows. Next door is a café bearing the same name. Often very lively, it's open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 2am, with evening shows from 10pm.
