During the hot summer months, which are not uncommon in the south of France, the Mortain swimming pool is very popular. From June to August, you can enjoy its open-air pool and paddling pool, as well as a pleasant garden with a children’s play area overlooking the Cance valley. Swimming and aquagym classes are offered regularly, and prices are very attractive - not to say very low. A place that children, as you can imagine, love.

When I first visited Mortain, I was blown away by the site of an outdoor pool on the hillside with glorious views of the landscape. I am very disappointed to discover this gem is only open for 3 months a year! What a waste! Is this true?! I can’t think of any greater assets or attraction than this place and yet on a sunny warm September Saturday lunchtime-empty! I don’t know who it’s owned/run by but there seems to be a place with so much to offer with a bit of modernising and care.
