Ateliers des Artisans d'Angkor (Angkor Craftsmen's Workshop), which trains young rural people in manual labor. Visit the workshop and store.
The Artisans d'Angkor foundation is dedicated to training young rural people in manual trades, and opens its workshops to the general public. This is an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the techniques involved in wood and stone carving, painting and lacquering, and silk weaving. The boutique features objects from the various workshops. Unfortunately, pale copies mass-produced in China can also be found in the evening markets. Les Ateliers d'Angkor operates on a not-for-profit basis. Everything is reinvested in the apprenticeship of young Khmers.
