USS ALBACORE

The USS Albacore is one of the fastest American warships of the 20th century. She is now back where she was built in the 1950s. Its elongated, teardrop-shaped hull (or that imitates that of tuna, hence its evocative name) is at the origin of modern submarines. You can visit the park in which it is located, in the heart of the city, as well as a museum that tells its history through photos and testimonies. Since 2005, it has been part of the Hall of Fame of submarines (yes, such an institution exists!).
