DUNE RESTAURANT
Read moreAmong the many good restaurants in Nantucket, this one is one of the few to stay open year-round. We love the modern chic setting and the menu that offers classics with a touch of innovation: the carrot risotto is creamy as you like it, the perfectly cooked trout is served with pieces of bacon and the desserts, which are quite rare, are just as succulent. The menu offers a few pieces of meat, but fish is still the star of the place. Nice selection of white wines. Warmly recommended.
BLACK-EYED SUSAN'S
Read moreA super nice restaurant, nestled in a typical Nantucket cottage. The place is known for its gargantuan breakfasts and original recipes (Thai scrambled eggs with shrimp and curry, for example). The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, reminiscent of a dinner party, although the locals are a little more upscale. You can also dine there six evenings a week. The menu then offers more elaborate dishes, often fish-based, such as swordfish a la plancha or spaghetti with clams. Payment in cash.
THE BROTHERHOOD OF THIEVES
Read moreThe name of this fine eatery comes from Stephen Foster's anti-slavery pamphlet. The place feels like a cozy tavern. There's plenty of space downstairs, and you'll feel right at home. You can also sit in the Whaling Bar. Little light, pleasant atmosphere, a feeling of being out of time. Burgers, seafood platters, cheese platters, meats, fish... the menu is well-stocked. An address we really appreciate.
