Founded in 1900, one of Boston's oldest theaters hosts some of the most prestigious plays and musicals.
Opened in 1900, this is the oldest continuously operating theatre in Boston. It has hosted the most prestigious plays and musicals, starting with Ben Hur, which was the very first play to be performed on its stage. Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes, La Cage aux Folles, based on Jean Poiret's play, and other Broadway classics were first performed here. It remained closed for several years and reopened in June 2018 with Moulin Rouge, a new musical adapted from the eponymous film by Baz Luhrmann.
