THOMAS POINT SHOAL LIGHTHOUSE

It's the most famous lighthouse of the United States. or at least the most recognized. It was built in 1824 and has since been restored to preserve its appearance. Protected by the status of "National Historic Landmark", it sets its hexagonal silhouette on stilts at its original location, one and a half miles from shore, in the middle of the bay. The guided tour of 2 h includes a 1 h boat ride (round trip).
