This remarkable architecture, style Guilded Age, was the residence of Christian Heurich, an immigrant of German and self-made man who made fortune by basing his brewery in the 1870 s. The Heurich Brewery Company became Washington's second employer after the government. Heurich built this sumptuous house between 1892-1894. Furniture, works of art, decoration, plumbing system… Everything is original and gives an excellent glimpse of the life of the rich at the time.
