A Perfect First-Time Experience in St. Barths
Our first trip to St. Barths was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to this incredible hotel. This vacation had been long overdue—we had to postpone our original trip due to a medical emergency last summer. The hotel staff was exceptionally accommodating during this time, making the rescheduling process easy and stress-free. As a thoughtful gesture, they even offered us a room upgrade, which meant so much.

Our villa was pristine and exactly as described, featuring breathtaking 360-degree views that made every moment feel like a dream. The complimentary breakfast each morning was five-star quality—fresh, made to order, and completely customizable to our preferences.

What truly set this experience apart was the warm, welcoming staff. They were beyond helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was flawless. Their hospitality truly made this feel like the ultimate vacation.

We can’t wait to return in the future—there’s simply no other place on St. Barths where we’d want to stay!

It’s a beautiful hotel, but the restaurant is lackluster. Small portions with large prices and ok service. The food was very tasty though!

This review is for my fellow American travelers to SBH (St. Barth) and thinking about where to stay.
We've been going to SBH for the past 15 years, usually renting a villa or staying at hotels, both being great decisions.
This year, we opted to do something different and stayed at Le Toiny. To get to the point, we soon realized it was our biggest mistake.
Hotel Quality & Location
Le Toiny is neither a 5-star or 4-star hotel. The location is way at the bottom of the island—very secluded. Insects infest the area—bees and roaches. The beach itself is essentially worthless because the area is swarming with bees. We questioned the staff at the hotel as to why, and they explained that this was "normal" for the island. Let me make this clear: it is not—only this part of this island has this issue. Even locals friends assured us that locals avoid this side of the island due to the hight amount of insects.
Cleanliness & Room Service
Our room condition was not satisfactory at all. Floors were sticky, shower hadn't been cleaned for three days, and the only amenities we had were bed making and towel replacement. We didn't have a minibar filled until we complained—after three days. We also noticed an infestation of cockroaches in our room, which we blame for none existent housekeeping.
Service Experience
No service was offered. Each request was stressful, and there was no hospitality. We were not made to feel welcome and we were neglected. We tried to check out after the first night and pay for the first night that was spent, but we were denied our request. There was no attempt to correct the situation or better the experience after we complained. The pool has dangerous electrical risk—lighting equipment is sticking out, and live electric cables are clearly visible into the pool. This is very dangerous, particularly for children. The AC in the bathroom was not working as well.
Moreover, as the villas are located deep in the forest, branches of trees constantly hit the roof at night, and it is impossible to have a good night's sleep.
Final Thoughts
If you're debating between Le Toiny and another reputable hotel like the other chain hotels do yourself a favor and avoid Le Toiny. The hotel lacks attention to detail, guest service, and basic hospitality standards—especially those expected by American travelers.
We were forced to post this review not due to ill intent, but so other people would not have to go through the same letdown that we experienced.
Le Toiny may look good online, but the reality it’s a nightmare, we you travel choose only big chains hotels to avoid this issues.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Hotel Le Toiny and it was absolute perfection. This was our second stay at Le Toiny. It was the serene, private setting that made us feel like we had our own corner of paradise. On our last night, the concierge team arranged a romantic dinner by our pool that was truly special—flawless service, candlelight, ocean breeze, and excellent food.||Every staff member made us feel genuinely cared for without ever intruding on the peaceful atmosphere. From the breathtaking views to the exquisite dining and personalized service, we couldn’t help it but to feel special and made our stay truly memorable.||Thank you ❤️
