It is one of the few churches in the city to have opened its doors to the faithful without interruption since its consecration in 1743. Located in a district of palaces and opulent buildings, halfway between the Summer Garden and the park of the Tauride Palace, it has an elegant façade. The cannon belt, with the inscription striking the pediment above the main gate - For the Turkish War of 1828-89 - is a reminder that they were taken from the Ottoman armies.
