Home of the Dukes of Argyll, this romantic neo-gothic castle is the fruit of the genius of William Adam and Roger Morris. Built between 1745 and 1790, it stands on 6.5 hectares of gardens in the centre of a 24,000 hectare estate. Its great beauty earned it the right to serve as the setting for an episode of the Downtown Abbey series. In addition to its finely furnished and ornamented rooms, it contains more than 1,300 weapons. You will admire the rich State Dining Room and the Tapestry Drawing Room. Stroll through the beautiful gardens and enjoy a snack in the elegant, traditional tearoom.

Magnifique château situé dans la ville blanche d'Inveraray, vous pourrez y visiter le château, avec son très joli parc, et à l'arrière du château vous pourrez trouver vos souvenirs dans la petite boutique

Le château d'Inveraray vaut à double titre pour tout son intérêt.
Tout d'abord, au-delà de sa facade austère, certes, les pièces meublées, tapissées à visiter sont de toute beauté, et les jardins sont un véritable ravissement.
Visiter ce château sous un petit crachin fait partie de l'ambiance écossaise mais un petit rayon de soleil inespéré illumine définitivement ces lieux

Y aller c'est faire un voyage dans le temps ! A l'automne, le "jardin" se pare de magnifiques couleurs et si la pluie n'est pas au rendez-vous, quelle bonheur d'y flâner ! Sinon, le château offre un visite "au sec" qui est très agréable.

Château qui nous a déçu vu de l'extérieur. Nous n'avons donc pas visité l'intérieur. Vue possible depuis le pont sur la rivière à la sortie de la ville. Belle boutique et caféteria à la propreté limite.

Beau château, digne d'un conte de fées quand on en voit l'extérieure. La visite est aussi très intéressante avec l'impressionnante salle d'armes mais également des photos de la famille qui y habite actuellement. La ballade dans le jardin est également agréable s'il fait beau.
